Vet newsletter #2 – The PetSure Press

Dear Colleagues,

I hope 2022 has started well for you.

My start to the year has been busy but fulfilling, especially with my rapidly expanding family of three two-legged children and now six four-legged children! The newest addition to our four-legged family is a beautiful 1 year-old rescued Frenchie called Lola.

Unfortunately, this year we have already managed to have four vet visits with three separate fur-babies and I was personally reminded of the value of pet insurance when the vet bills started to add up! Of course, it is absolutely worth every cent for the care and attention provided by our wonderful Vets.

In this edition of PetSure press, I am very excited to announce the GoWell and For a Life with Pets initiatives as well as introduce to you some of the new members of the PetSure Advisory Panel. There is also an update on the exciting Vets Beyond Borders and Taronga Zoo Wildlife Treatment and care program, and we will share with you some insights from our recent Industry Survey which would not have been possible without your valuable input.

Finally, I wanted to share with you that, in response to the unprecedented flooding across NSW & QLD, PetSure will cover the costs of emergency boarding across all pet insurance policies administered by PetSure until 30 March 2022. This applies to insured pets that have been directly affected by the floods, regardless of the policy type. If this affects any of your clients, they can submit their invoices to [email protected].

Until next time,

Dr Dani – Chief Veterinary Officer – PetSure Australia

Supporting Vets to help Aussie Wildlife

In 2021, PetSure sponsored six veterinary professionals in conjunction with Vets Beyond Borders to attend Taronga Zoo’s training program, ‘Veterinary Professional Training in Wildlife Treatment and Care’. We are very pleased to announce that in 2022 we are continuing to contribute to this fantastic program sponsoring another five incredible Veterinary industry professionals to fine tune their skills in treating and caring for our beloved Aussie wildlife. Follow PetSure on FacebookInstagram or LinkedIn to meet the amazing Vets and Nurses PetSure has sponsored to complete this amazing program.

Winners announced! PetSure Industry Survey

A very big thank you to those of you who took time out of your busy schedules to complete our industry survey. The survey insights will be used to help improve PetSure products and services, and to help us help the Veterinary industry. We will be sharing various insights in upcoming editions so watch this space. Some of you indicated that you discount your fees, offer payment plans, or have pets surrendered to you when clients are having difficulties affording treatment costs – did you know that GapOnlyTM may help clients insured with eligible policies to reduce up-front expenses with this unique, on the spot claiming system?

You also told us you would like pet insurance policies to cover dental care. Did you know that we have a ‘Find a policy’ tool on our website that helps your clients to review policies that suit their needs, including those that offer dental cover? Check out our ‘Find a policy’ tool here.

Veterinary mental health and wellbeing are important to you too – that’s why we have launched our GoWell initiative.

And finally, congratulations to the winners of the fantastic prizes. They have now been contacted, and the prizes, which included a $2000 travel voucher, Beats Headphones and a FitBit, are on their way!

PetSure announces For a Life With Pets and GoWell initiatives

As part of our vision to create a better world for pets and their people, we’ve set up For A Life with Pets, to build on our existing work in the community, supporting animal welfare, pet-related charities, as well as support the Veterinary Industry via our GapOnlyTM initiative, GoWell

From 1 January 2022, for every GapOnly™️ claim submitted, PetSure has been giving $1 to support For A Life With Pets. The funds will be put towards causes that focus on mental health and wellbeing in the Veterinary profession.

We’re looking forward to bringing you further updates in 2022 on GoWell and other exciting For a Life with Pets initiatives in upcoming editions of PetSure Press!
