Meet Sam

A lifelong animal lover, Sam applied to do the PetSure Veterinary Internship program because she would like to learn more about pet insurance so that she is better prepared to talk about it with her future clients. We sat down with Sam to get to know her better.

Q. Hi Sam! Thanks for joining our 2021 PetSure Vet Student Internship Program. Can you start with telling us a little about yourself?

A. I grew up with many different animals and my mother used to volunteer in animal shelters. I have always had an interest in becoming a Veterinarian and this was solidified once I started working as a vet nurse.

Q. What are you hoping to gain from your time at PetSure?

A. A good understanding of how pet insurance works, the benefits of it and how to appropriately discuss the subject with clients.

Q. What’s one thing people would be surprised to learn about you?

A. I can lick my elbow.

Q. Do you have any pets?

A. We have Mac, who is a Chihuahua Fox Terrier cross and Finally (my little sister named her), who is a Rottweiler Golden Retriever cross.

Q. What quote or saying do you live by?

A. “Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.” Thomas Edison.

Q. What do you understand pet insurance to be?

A. A way for pet parents to be able to treat their pets when unexpected expenses arise. Many people can afford annual vaccinations and food purchases but may be blindsided when accidents or health issues cost thousands of dollars. 

Q. Do you think pet insurance can help provide better treatment outcomes for pets?

A. Yes, absolutely.
