In an effort to help pet parents access more claimable conditions, PetSure are pleased to announce that infectious disease exclusions on comprehensive products with illness cover have been removed, effective 28 June 2021 for all existing and new customers. Amendments to Product Disclosure Statements will follow.
This is the latest change from PetSure and comes as part of our continuous product development process, and as a response to feedback from pet owners, vets, and our Chief Veterinary Officer, Dr. Dani Hoolahan. This follows the other recent changes, including the most recent amend to how pre- existing conditions are handled.
PetSure CEO, Alex Thomas, said: “At PetSure, we want pet parents to find the value in their pet insurance, as ultimately, it is a product that is made to be used. To deliver on this purpose, we’ve made this decision to remove infectious disease exclusions across our comprehensive pet insurance policies to help pet parents claim for more eligible conditions whilst also increasing the accessibility of high-quality veterinary care for their pets.”
There are a number of infectious diseases that are included under this change, including:
For Dogs:
- All forms of Kennel Cough
- Parvovirus
- Canine Distemper
- Canine Influenza
For Cats:
- Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV)
- Feline Leukaemia Virus (FeLV)
- Calicivirus
